Wildlife Warriors

Together We Learn. Together We Conserve.

The Wildlife Warrior program educates the next generation of East African conservationists, meets local education and development priorities and ensures there is a strong link between wildlife tourism and community benefit distribution.

More than 2,200 children between the ages of 6 and 14 participate in the Wildlife Warriors program. These children attend primary schools throughout Kenya and Tanzania. Children become members of their school’s Wildlife Warrior Club where community leaders, conservationists and guides facilitate activities such as trivia, poetry, drama, art and story writing competitions. All the WWC activities are designed to promote inter-generational knowledge sharing, innovative thinking and proactive wildlife conservation.

Wildlife Warriors is a Land & Life Foundation program. The goal of the Land & Life Foundation is to ensure that local communities receive benefits from wildlife tourism. The Land & Life Foundation focuses on educating the next generation of East African conservationists and encouraging wildlife protection on locally owned lands by working with rural communities to identify and support their development needs.

Wildlife Warrior Scholars

For the highest achieving young conservationists in Kenya, the Wildlife Warrior Scholarship Program provides a 75% scholarship for the entire secondary education – a period of four years – as well as any primary school education years remaining. These top young scholars are brought together each year to debate key national conservation issues. They will also will meet and hear from conservation stakeholders about the main challenges and successes of wildlife tourism in various parts of Kenya.

Invest in a Young Conservationist

A donation of $2,200 will provide a scholarship for the entire four years of secondary school for one young conservationist. Join us in our efforts! We appreciate any level of contribution.

The Wildlife Warrior Promise

English

I, as a Wildlife Warrior

Promise that I will do my best:

To conserve wildlife,

To preserve my environment

And remember its value.

I will not poach,

I will not litter,

I will protect the natural heritage of my community.

Swahili

Mimi kama Wildlife Warrior,

Nina ahidi kutia bidii,

Kuhifadhi wanyama pori na mazingira yangu,

Na kukumbuka thamani yake.

Sita waua wanyama pori,

Sita chafua mazingira yangu,

Nitalinda utamaduni asili ya jamii yangu.
