Welcoming Local Ocean Trust

We’re excited to announce that  our conservation efforts are going overboard. That is, the newest addition to our programmes is Local Ocean Trust, a private, not for profit organisation committed to the protection of Kenya’s marine environment. Their flagship programme, Watamu Turtle Watch, was started by local residents in 1997 to protect nesting sea turtles. The organisation’s initiatives have expanded into the Nest Monitoring and Protection programme, ByCatch Release Programme, and specialist Rehabilitation Centre for sick and injured sea turtles.
